What does the Bible say about tattoos? – Maltese Cross Tattoo Designs

The Bible has a lot to say about tattoos. For example, the apostle Paul said he wanted to share his wisdom with others. “Let them know of a surety unto me that I delivered unto you first of all these things… [And] of the knowledge of Jesus which was by revelation and of the testimony which I had with me…” (3 Timothy 2:15–16.)

The Lord’s Prayer, “Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven,” speaks about helping one another in times of need. This has led to the practice of tattooing by many churches. Tattoos offer another important means to help others spiritually attain the highest spiritual and physical levels.

The Apostle Paul said, “I desire therefore that all men should honor his name…” (1 Corinthians 10:16.)

Another teaching of the Bible reveals a clear teaching about tattoos. The Lord Jesus spoke to Peter about the need to help each other spiritually:

But for the sake of the cross of Christ I ask that you may be strengthened to endure the things that are impossible. Therefore, since I am not able to bear you, I send you on ahead. I am not sending you to proclaim the gospel of man [nor] to convince you as to what you ought to do from yourselves, but I am sending you as sheep among wolves, as the one sent for the sheep of the flock. (Matthew 16:18–19.)

Tattoos can help us overcome our weaknesses and improve our spiritual fitness. For example, when you have had a bad accident, a tattoo is a means to remember your strength to make another strong.

What should I think about my first tattoo?

This could be the reason that an attractive tattoo is considered a “love-bomb.” The most important thing is to take the time to go from the physical to the spiritual and to
