It takes just 3 days and 5 minutes! You can actually watch this video online to see how it’s done in the studio – it’s really fast, easy and easy to apply. But don’t bother looking for instructions. All you need to do is put some ink on the paper and you’ll be getting it done!
What does it look like?
There’s a lot of different styles. Some have a lot of shading and others have a bit more of an inkbrush look. We have more than 20 different styles to choose from including:
Viking style – This style is quite nice for beginners with a bit of shading
Bosse style – This style is very easy to apply and has a lot of shading
Gothic style – This style has so much shading it’s hard for beginners to see what is happening. The shadows look good though!
Celtic style – This style has a lot of deep shading
Medieval style – This is one of our favorite styles so far but you really have to watch an instructional video in order to learn to draw it well.
What is the process?
Step one is to buy a good color of paper. We like one of these very old school paper in a size that allows you to draw very well with a small pen. If you can’t find a paper that works for you, use this paper instead and start at Step 2.
You can also use the inkbottle with a fine tip pen in order to get really detailed ink drawings.
Step three is to fill up your drawing paper with white ink. It should be very thin or too thick. We also recommend not using more ink than what’s on your pen. You can use more ink while you’re drawing to keep things flowing.
Step four is to put on a large, round piece of tape. The tape should make your pencil stick out quite a bit when it passes through your paper.
Step five is to press down onto your drawing paper with pressure. This helps your drawing stick as it moves around the paper. When you’re done using the tape, you’ll go to step six.
Your drawing will still be perfectly fine, so don’t worry about your eyes.
