Yes! Art is a great way to learn! As a beginner you may be limited to what art tools you have at home, or you may be unfamiliar with digital software or equipment. It is also difficult to find professional art resources online. Luckily, there are lots of resources out there that have been created for children and adults alike.
If you already have access to digital tools such as Illustrator, Corel Painter or Adobe Photoshop, that should be enough for you to get started. For a more advanced user, there are several great tutorials available online on drawing. For instance, there’s a fantastic tutorial on drawing the perfect triangle here, a series of tutorials on various basic drawing exercises here, and another series on drawing a snake here. We have also also put together a list of the best online art tutorials for children here.
You can also find a huge range of free online resources for adults with a bit of effort. For instance, if you know how to open an email, you can find some free printable ebooks here and for those who don’t know how to download stuff, here’s a collection of free templates you can use.
How will I learn?
To learn to draw, you’ll need to do a lot of practice. You’ll need to be able to think clearly about concepts and draw them. You’ll need to learn to develop strong, consistent drawing habits that last. You’ll need to be able to draw a variety of different poses. And you’ll also need to be able to draw realistically, without being restricted by limitations or preconceptions of what it looks like.
So how do I begin?
As you are learning to draw, you’ll need to do something in-between drawing, such as reading. If you’ve ever read a book about art, or have watched a video on how to draw, you’ll know what I’m talking about. However, if you’re trying to learn to draw, it’s best to pick a book, a video or a website that has a strong emphasis on drawing. Books like The Art of Drawing, Art of the Cartoon, The Art of Drawing and Art of Drawing for Kids, would most likely help you build up your drawing practice.
If you’re already drawing, how will I know when I’m done?
Now, how will you know when you’re past all that is boring? I’ve written a bunch of free free online books and articles on how to draw and some of the best
