One thing that I’ve learned from self-coaching is that self-coaching is about more than just improving yourself. It’s about becoming the best coach that you can be. It’s about taking the time to find out what’s working for you and then trying to apply it.

So, if you’ve found this article, you’ve probably already begun implementing self-coaching in the form of studying other peoples’ strategies. That’s probably the best place to start the process of improvement. To begin with, let’s take a break from studying your own game.

The other thing that’s important to remember when starting to apply self-coaching is that, unlike any other skill of self-training, the results in terms of increased happiness, better habits, and higher performance are not instantaneous because self-coaching is about understanding what to study first. As soon as you study something and realize how important it is for your life, you’ll begin to do it constantly. Here are some tips to help you:

Find out what works and what works better: Look at the different approaches and how they are doing so far. Once you know how to improve your game, you can now think “what would make me happy?” or find out, “what would make me want to improve my game” and then find out which approach really works for you.

Be honest: Ask yourself, “What would make me feel great or happy?” If you can’t figure it out, then don’t do it.

Start with some random question: For example, if you’re like me, it’s impossible to say, “I’d like to grow my upper body”. Well you know what? Ask your best friend “What do you
