Here is another short list (of camera models that fit one of these categories), which I like to consider as a sort of guideline.

1. Sony NEX-5R

2. Canon PowerShot G6

3. Leica M

4. Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G7

5. Pentax K-70 II

6. Nikon D3x

7. Nikon D850

8. Olympus OM-D E-M5

9. Nikon E-M10

10. Sony NEX-5R

11. Leica M, NEX-5R Mark II, E-M5, D3, D300, D3s, D3x, D700, E-M1, D810, NEX-5R II

These are the cameras that I consider to be a good budget for film, but they still have a bit of an edge over some of the others. In the first 3, the Nikon D850, P3, and P5 have the least expensive cameras. In the fourth, the Canon PowerShot G6 has the best price, although there is also the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G7 which you might consider just for the fact that it will give you both DSLR and mirrorless for a very reasonable price
