A woman in an online video claiming to be a 14-year-old girl posted a picture of herself as a 14-year-old boy in a dress on her website to make a provocative statement.

The girl was identified as 13-year-old Adria Richards from San Francisco, according to KSBW-TV. The girl had been seen on Facebook wearing a dress online.

The 14-year-old boy, identified as Adrienne Richards from San Fran., appeared after the girl appeared on Facebook. Adrienne took the time to show her friends what she’d been wearing. Her friends were surprised, KSBW-TV reported, that her mother was willing to let her do this.

“She was pretty happy about it, just saying ‘I just want to let people know that I’m in the news, I’m in trouble. I’m in trouble,'” the girls’ mother, Adrienne, told KSBW.

Adrienne’s father, Eric Richards told KMSP that his daughter is “pretty nervous” and “would like to tell her mother and her father about what’s going on.”

KSBW News reported that the girl said she’s “been getting a lot of unwanted attention because her picture has been published online.” A photo of Adrienne’s Facebook posting showed a boy in a blue shirt and shorts, a pair of blue jeans, and gray Timberland boots sitting by the pool.

She went on her Facebook page to say “I’m scared,” and “I’m scared because I don’t know what to expect.”

The girl’s mother claimed that the photo was taken at her daughter’s house over the weekend. “It was taken over the weekend at her house by a friend or family member,” Eric Richards told KMSP.

A post on her Page says the 14-year-old girl is in a “safe place” and says “Don’t worry Adrienne,” apparently indicating the situation is safe at the moment.
